Peter Raeburn is a hugely talented songwriter renowned for his achievements in composing music for use in television, advertising and film. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and raised in London where he currently lives. Having gained experience working on the music of a number of feature films, Peter launched Soundtree|, a music and sound production, supervision and research company where he is now Creative Director. Soundtree| signed an administration deal with the Kassner group in 2005 for the representation of all of its copyrights.

Soundtree| has become one of the premier companies in the sphere of sound production, its work in commercial advertising and film-making being recognized by numerous honours, including 3 Cannes Lion D’or Excellence in Music Awards, 4 D & AD Awards for Outstanding Achievement and Use of Music in Television and Cinema Advertising, 4 British Television Advertising (BTAA) Craft Awards for Best Use of Recorded Music and 3 Creative Circle Awards for Best Use of Music and Sound.

Soundtree| has also been associated with a number of film soundtracks, with Peter personally involved in a variety of guises. Credits include Lars Von Trier’s Breaking The Waves, Robert Le Page’s Le Confessional and Jonathan Glazer’s Birth and Sexy Beast. Peter has been reunited with Glazer for some of his most famous advertising work, including the unforgettable Surfer for Guinness which was voted the number one British commercial of all time by viewers of Channel 4.

You and Me

Peter has also been active in recording work. In 2005 he was producer and musical director of Township Sessions by The Mothers, a project driven by the idea of lyrical health messages with the proceeds going to the South African NGO ‘Philani’ centre for nutrition and health. Most recently, in April 2009, Peter chose to release his first album, a selection of his self-composed tracks entitled You and Me. Included on this set of recordings are the songs Celebrare CELEBRARE by NICHOLAS FOSTER,TOM KENYATTA,PETER RAEBURN|, which was used in the Smirnoff advertisement Sea, and Cathartic Waltz CATHARTIC WALTZ by NICHOLAS FOSTER,PETER RAEBURN|, which backs the Guinness commercial World|.
