KINKS BIOPIC TO GO INTO PRODUCTION

It has been revealed that film and music video director Julien Temple has teamed up with Ray Davies| to plot a film detailing the story of The Kinks|. Tentatively titled You Really Got Me YOU REALLY GOT ME by RAYMOND DAVIES| after the Kassner-controlled copyright that launched their career, the film will focus upon the well-documented sibling rivalry between Ray Davies and his younger brother, Dave.

Temple has commented: “At the heart of it is the extraordinary love-hate relationship between these two brothers: love/hate, sibling rivalry is at the core. I think it’s a very rich social, cultural nexus around The Kinks. Their story is the untold story of all those big bands of the 1960s.”

Most famed for the Sex Pistols documentary The Great Rock and Roll Swindle and a variety of classic music videos, Temple has confirmed that whichever actors are cast as The Kinks| will be required to perform their music. As a result, fans can look forward to new renditions of Kinks classics such as All Day and All of the Night ALL DAY AND ALL OF THE NIGHT by RAYMOND DAVIES|, Tired of Waiting For You TIRED OF WAITING FOR YOU by RAYMOND DAVIES| and the film’s title track.
